How can your client find their local community legal clinic?

Community legal clinics usually only serve clients who live in their geographic catchment area, but they do make exceptions, in some cases. Legal Aid Ontario has an online directory of all their community legal aid clinics that can show you the closest clinic(s) in the area based on postal code.

How You Can Help:

  • Step 1: Help your client navigate the legal clinic directory to find their closest legal clinic or if you know the closest clinic in the area, help them contact the clinic to ask if they are eligible for services.
  • Step 2: If you or your client are unable to use the directory, you can help them contact the Client Services Centre at 416-979-1446 or toll-free at 1-800-668-8258.
  • Step 3: If your client is dealing with discrimination, harassment or similar issue, you can help them go through the list of specialty clinics to see if any might apply, then help them contact that clinic for more information on if and how they can get assistance.
